About Peter Loukas

Peter Loukas is a Staten Island based artist and designer. With a passion for commercial art from a early age, Peter studied at the New York City High School for Art & Design, where he was exposed to the street art of the ‘80s. Peter’s first paying job was working for a local mom and pop print shop where he would cut and paste Letraset typography and clip art pictures to produce advertisements for local businesses.

After graduating from Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in graphic design, Peter worked for several print companies doing type setting and color separations. While happy working in his field of choice, the work wasn’t exaclty what he was dreaming of. Years later, a close college friend introduced him to the world of t-shirt design. He was working for several name brands such as Champion, And One Basketball, and DC Comics. In the early ‘90s, another project Peter enjoyed was creating various club and rave flyers. This art style still provides him inspiration in recent apparel designs.

For the past 15 years, Peter found his niche designing graphics for apparel at his present company. Here he has created award-winning art for SONY, Marvel, CBS, Live Nation, and various private label designers. His knowledge of old school print production and passion for street art has helped his design process and creation of fresh artwork.

In his spare time, he creates miniatures, which can be seen here.
